- 實施內容：Heres a breakdown of key rules related to home plate and the batter:
1. Fair vs. Foul Ball:
A batted ball that strikes home plate first is considered a fair ball.
For a ball to be ruled foul, it must settle in foul territory between home plate and first or third base, or it must first touch foul territory beyond first or third before being touched by a fielder.
2. Strike Zone:
The strike zone is the area over home plate where a pitch must pass to be called a strike.
Its defined as the space between the batters knees and the top of their uniform pants, and the top of their shoulders.
3. Batters Box and Home Plate:
The batter must remain in the batters box when hitting the ball, or they can be called out (umpires discretion).
The batters foot cannot touch the plate during the swing, or they will be called out.
While a batter can step on the plate, it is not automatically an out, especially if their foot is still inside the batters box.
4. Plate Appearance:
A plate appearance is a batters time at the plate, including at-bats, walks, and other situations.
In major league baseball, a player must accumulate a certain number of plate appearances (502) to be eligible for certain season-ending rankings based on percentage.
